This white Christmas pie recipe is a scrumptious, creamy treat, makes a perfect combo with tea, hot chocolate, or in fact, any beverage. It is filled with unsalted butter, vanilla, coconut, and a delightful topping of yummy cream.

  • For Making The Crust
  • 1/4th cup of ice-cold water

  • Four tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup of granulated sugar

  • ½ tablespoon of kosher salt

  • 2 ½ tablespoon of vegetable shortening

  • Six tablespoons of unsalted butter

  • For Making The Stuffing
  • One tablespoon of plain gelatin

  • 1 ½ cup of whole milk

  • ½ teaspoon of salt

  • 1/4th cup of all-purpose flour

  • 1/4th teaspoon of almond extract

  • 1/4th teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • 2/3rd cup of granulated sugar

  • One envelope of plain gelatin

  • Three egg whites

  • ½ cup of heavy cream

  • 1/4th teaspoon of cream of tartar

  • ¾ cup of shredded coconut ( optional)

  • 2 cups of full cream for topping ( optional)

  • Diced berries for topping ( optional)

  • For Making The Crust
  • Start by making the crust of the pie. First, cut the butter into small lumps, spread it flat on a plate, and put it in the freezer until you work on the other ingredients.
  • Now take a food processor and add your dry ingredients, including flour, salt, and granulated sugar. Pulse it to mix it.
  • In the same bowl, add cold vegetable shortening and cold butter and pulse it until everything is combined properly.
  • Add cold water to the mixture and keep pulsing it until the dough is no longer crumbly. Add more water and beat it if it hasn’t come together yet.
  • Take out the dough onto the counter and form a circle for the base of the pie. Wrap it tightly with a plastic sheet and put it in the freezer for about 20-30 minutes.
  • When your dough has been in the freezer for a maximum of 30 minutes, take it out and spread it on a floured surface. Make sure you roll it till it is 2 inches bigger than that you originally started from.
  • Now use a standard pie plate and press in your dough on the surface and the container’s edges. Use your thumb and knuckles to make sure it is firm and together. Then after you’re done kneading, put the dough in the freezer for at least half an hour; however, the more, the better.
  • After placing the dough in the freezer to rest, preheat the oven to 375 degree in the meantime.
  • Take out the dough plate from the freezer and set a parchment paper on it (with the pie weights) before putting the pie dough in the oven.
  • 10. After placing the dough on the baking pan, spread it out evenly and bake it for 20 minutes to get a nice seamless crust.
  • 11. Take the crust out and make tiny holes in the crust with a fork or toothpick. Also, remove the pie weights. For another 15-20 minutes, put the dough back to cook in the oven.
  • 12. Take it out of the freezer and cool it to room temperature.
  • For Making The Stuffing
  • For the stuffing, start with adding plain gelatin in a bowl of water and letting it dissolve.
  • Now take a pan and add sugar, milk, flour, salt and whisk it on low heat for a minute.
  • Now take the dissolved gelatin and add it to this mixture. Whisk it for a couple of minutes.
  • Now take it off the stove and mix it. To cool it down, put the pan in a container full of ice.
  • Take the egg whites, add the leftover granulated sugar (1/3 cup), and cream of tartar and whip it together till a soft creamy consistency.
  • Also, whip ½ cup of heavy cream until it can form peaks.
  • You can also add the filling to the mixer just to make it extra creamy.
  • Now take the gelatin filling, put it in a bowl, add whipped cream, and slowly fold the whipped cream into the mixture.
  • Add the beaten egg white and the coconuts shreds if you like.
  • 10. You can start putting the stuffing evenly on the pie.
  • For Decoration
  • You can use whipped heavy cream for the decoration. Use a fancy pastry bag if you like to decorate the pie with the cream.
  • Dice some strawberries, cherries, blueberries, or any fruit that you like and put it on the top.
  • You can also make strawberry syrup and pour it on the pie.
  • Add chocolate chips or tiny chocolate pieces to add a little modern touch to the vintage recipe.
  • To add color, you can also put some sprinkles on top.
  • Put the white Christmas pie in the refrigerator for a while and serve it when chilled.
